Which Corona rules apply?

Can I feed the monkeys?

No, feeding the monkeys is not allowed. The Barbary macaques stay close to the visitor paths. The forest is the perfect setting to observe the natural behavior of these special animals. By the way, you can feed the fallow deer yourself at the feeding at 1pm, 3pm and 4pm.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are not allowed in the park! Shepherds are one of the natural predators of Barbary macaques, the monkeys would respond highly aggressive to the presence of a dog. This is why, even small dogs cannot be taken into the park, even if they are carried in a bag.

In front of the entrance, there is a beergarden. Usually dog owners wait here with their furry friend, as long as the rest of the family enters the park.

Will I see monkeys if it rains?

Yes, Affenberg Salem is open in all weathers. On rainy days, we recommend weatherproof clothing (umbrella, rain jacket and waterproof shoes). The animals are as active on rainy days, as they are when the sun shines. Well worth a visit even in rainy weather!
